由约翰．凯尔编剧的本片描述英格兰女王伊利沙白一世因恐苏格兰女王玛丽威胁其王位，因此施加手段将她迫害，最后还将她斩首。本片集中描写两个性格相反的女王之间的斗争，题材在英宫历史片中是相当新鲜的。两位女主角凡妮莎蕾．格烈芙和格兰达．杰克逊都演得很出色，屈弗．霍华和白屈克．麦哥汉在片中也有不俗表现，导演查尔斯．贾洛特的手法亦条理分明。全片戏剧性相当浓厚，配乐亦很优美。。1936年陕北，农村后生石娃，在劳动中挺身救下了富绅白知义的女儿白静。白静爱慕石娃，父亲坚决发对。石娃参见大生产当上了劳动模范并当选边区县参议员，通过劳动改变了命运，也获得了爱情。。Weapons of Death is not the most original Polizi flick you're ever likely to see, but that's not too much of a problem since the genre tends to borrow from itself often anyway.
