该剧以20世纪30年代鱼龙混杂的上海滩为背景，讲述了人称“四大金刚”的四个异姓兄弟因信仰不同逐渐反目成仇，最后在情与义、国与家、正义与邪恶的较量中展开殊死搏杀的故事。。大同商人薛衍（田野），字子奇，好武行俠，義服鄉里。某日，與友人萬子淵，解貨遠行，途遇黃金賊，子奇單刀奮戰，不支被擒，萬姓友人慘遭焚斃，屍身焦爛。管家薛保（葛香亭）老眼昏花，誤認子奇燒死，踉蹌報喪，薛府上下舉哀。子奇妻張氏（李虹），妾劉氏（李芷麟），王氏（伍秀芳），皆麗人。張氏有子，小名倚哥（游龍），嬌生慣養，儼然小霸王，腳踢齒咬，人多生畏。三娘王春娥，尤其不敢親近。其時，匪徒來家勒索，張劉二氏與司賬薛安通（金石），暗攜金銀細軟棄家遠逃...。This popular animated television cartoon featured two Stone Age families, the Flintstones and their neighbors, the Rubbles. Much of the humor was based on its comic portrayals of modern conveniences, reinterpreted using Stone Age 'technology.' Most notably were their cars, complete with absence of floorboards to allow them to be 'foot-powered.'。
